Microsoft Word, A Basic Programme For A Computer Skills Beginner

In any good computer school, it is the first program (application) they will expose you to. When you learn and know Word, learning other programs becomes a lot easier. This is because about all other programs pattern their arrangement of menus and commands after Word. So you would have gotten used to those menus and commands, and you can easily use or apply them in those other programs too.

For example, if you know nothing on Word, and you just jump into PowerPoint or Excel, most of the things you will see there will give headache, I mean real headache, literally speaking, but while trying to figure what those things stand for, you will develop a real headache; nobody will tell you to stop. But if you had already learned and known Word, come and see how sooth it would be to learn PowerPoint, Excel and other programs. They will just fall in place almost automatically.

There are 3 routes to learning Word namely:

 Get yourself a trainer
 Train yourself
 Acquire tutorial software

Get yourself a trainer who knows the job inside-out with a good track record with past clients. Depending on your time and finances, you could do their general or home service if they do the two.

You could train yourself by using the help menu of the Word program; this requires some commitment and patience on your part, but with time, you will find yourself mastering the program.

You could acquire tutorial software from trusted experts. These tutorial software are interactive and pleasant. You run them on your computer and it is like holding a home class right in your bedroom, kitchen, office, or even at picnic, or anywhere of your choice.

While doing all these, you find yourself knowing Microsoft Word and just enjoying yourself. Then, you would have positioned yourself on the path of becoming a guru.
